Commodore 1571 Test/Demo til Commodore 64.
Løs diskette, uden æske og manual.
The test/demo-diskette – also named utility diskette, is a 5,25″-disk, that was enclosed by Commodore to almost every hardware by Commodore that was sold (except for datasette or home computers). It serves to demonstrate what is possible with the purchased hardware or for tests, which check the hardware for correct function.
The contained programmes (like games, program examples for sprites, hires, colour, sound, DOS Wedge) were mostly written in BASIC, whereby with some hardware also machine language routines were used. With the programs advanced programmers could also comprehend how the new hardware worked, in case this was insufficiently documented in the manual or the description leaflet.
